December 3, 2021 The Allyn P. Udell Hello Dolly Foundation, Inc. 365 Willis Avenue Mineola, NY 11501 Dear Ira, Zach, Jared and Erin, Thank you for your generous gift in support of our patients. As you experienced first-hand, the challenges of dealing with a cancer diagnosis and managing all of the things that need to be taken care of when a loved one is sick is difficult in itself. The added financial burden on some less-fortunate patients complicates their ability to navigate day-to-day needs. This program will alleviate some of that burden and provide crucial assistance for medications, transportation and food. I have had a very long relationship with your family, almost as long as that with my own. Allyn came to me in Little Rock, Arkansas—a very alien environment from a Jewish boy from NYC. She was a vivacious woman, quite comfortable in the deep South. It was always more like she was hosting me than I her. We became friends, more than physician/patient. We went to school, we had meals together, we talked about life. Our relationship has lasted for decades and continues despite her passing. I know that my relationship with you and the extended family will also continue. Her memory continues to motivate me in my care of patients and research into this horrible disease. I know that she would be proud to see that other patients are being helped in her memory. Thank you for your friendship and support. Warmly, David S.
